SuperNode has responded to the second draft of the German 2037/2045 grid development plan and welcomed the fact that the plan explicitly addresses the role of innovations in the electricity system of the future. However, the definition of innovation is far too narrow and not technology-neutral, meaning that disruptive grid technologies such as superconductors are excluded. SuperNode is calling for a wider definition of innovation and a more far-sighted assessment of leap innovations such as superconductors.
